Over time, you\’ll want to provide information about your company to lots of different people, including employees, investors, existing and potential clients and the media Your company\’s success may depend in part upon how well you communicate that information–which in turn may depend upon how well you prepare collateral items ranging from company and product fact sheets to biographies of key employees

Every business should always have the following eight items on hand, ready to distribute Get them printed today

1 Company fact sheet

Potential investors or employees, analysts and media people should be able to learn important facts about your business with a quick look at your fact sheet A company fact sheet should include the following information:

- Date the company was founded

- Where it is headquartered and has affiliate offices

- Names and brief backgrounds of founders and upper-level management

- Contact information

- Brief mission statement

2 Product fact sheets

Keep a fact sheet on file for each of your products or services A product fact sheet should include the following:

- The product\’s function

- Distinctive features

- Comparison to similar products on the market

- Quality level

- Reliability

- Cost

3 Bios on founders and senior management

Make sure you have a bio on hand for each founding member of the company, every senior manager and each member of the board of directors Bios should include the person脭酶1/2s education, relevant experience, awards or honors, and publications that featured the team member or the team member\’s work

4 Mission statement

A mission statement can motivate and direct employees and give new hires an idea of how your company works You can also show the statement to potential investors, lenders or members of the media

5 Company background

Whereas the company fact sheet essentially is just that-a list of facts-this document is written in paragraph form and should include more detail

6 Current list of clients/partners

This information may be interesting to investors or potential clients Replica Christian Louboutin.

7 Press kit

When you open your business or launch a new product, consider sending out a press kit Press kits also can come in handy if you decide to pitch your business at a trade show Your kit should include the following elements:

- Folder with your company\’s logo

- Personalized letter pitching your company

- Company fact sheet

- Product fact sheet

- Press release

- Articles written about your company

- Business card

- Company background

While you may want to keep a few press kits on hand, don\’t keep a giant stack of them around Otherwise, you risk distributing out-of-date materials Swiss Replica Watches. Instead, keep each element of the press kit in a computer file, and update as needed when you\’re distributing a new round of kits

8 Clip file

Make someone in your office responsible for collecting and maintaining any articles written about your company Note: If you are thinking about mounting a PR blitz, consider hiring a PR firm to track where press kits were sent, make sure they are received and then monitor the press for mentions of your firm

There are circumstances when you may want a sign on a truck, trailer or steel surface, but not permanently. Magnetic signs fill that gap. While there are virtually no limitations on the design of a custom magnetic vehicle sign, they are not as durable as permanent installations such as vinyl lettering. Even with that said, Magnetic Signs are great for enhancing the look of a personal vehicle or an entire commercial fleet while maintaining the ease of a one minute removal.

Magnetic signs work great for:

鈥?Commercial Fleets

鈥?Official Vehicles

鈥?Service Fleets

鈥?Novelty Magnets

鈥?Realtor Vehicles

鈥?Delivery Vehicles

Magnetic signs are made of a magnetic material backing with high quality vinyl adhered to the front side of the magnet. Depending on the design, the vinyl adhered can be a full sheet of digitally printed vinyl or die cut vinyl decals placed on the magnet.

Common placement of magnetic signs include the left front door, right front door, or back of the vehicle. Magnetic signs should never be placed on fresh paint. Allow at least 60 days for paint to cure. When installing magnetic signs, ensure that both the vehicle surface and the magnet surface is clean. If even a small amount of dirt is left on the surface it increases the chances of the magnetic signs falling off and the chance that the vehicle paint job will be damaged.

Cleaning magnetic signs is very easy, use any household cleaner and a soft cloth. Wet the soft cloth or sponge and wipe down the sign. Always remove magnetic signs before taking your vehicle through any car wash. Also remember to periodically remove the sign and wash and wax underneath the magnet.

Removing a magnetic sign is simple, Start at one side of the sign, lift off and slowly roll back. Magnetic signs should always be stored adhered to a steel surface or laid flat. Never roll up magnetic signs for long period of time, as they will retain the rolled shape after awhile and will not stay flat on the surface of your vehicle. Also do not store your magnetic signs back to back as they will lose their magnetivity. Store them on a flat metal surface like the side of your fridge or a steel door.

CIOs Bring Technology to the Corporate Picnic

Publishing Guidelines: You may publish my article in your newsletter, on your website or in your print publication provided you include the resource box at the end. Notification would be appreciated but is not required.

By S. Maurer

Shunning the technology dimension of the Chief Information Officer role is to miss a trick.

Information Tecnology is a specialist source of knowledg毛 that CIOs bring to the corporat毛 picnic.

No one else in the organisation is as well placed to se毛 how technology can contribut毛 to shareholder value.

The Chief Information Officer has to really understand how to transform a enterprise within its manufacture by a combination of technology and process innovation.

When the investment pool gets great, the Chief Information Officer have to collaborat毛 more with finance to ensure that you are making the right investments and managing them for the highest value.

The CEO and CFO have that from their own purviews, but they do not understand how work really gets done, how the business/services/manufacturing truly operates, the way CIOs do.

Technology travels in 80-year cycles: 40 years to get IT to work right, and a second 40 years for IT to impact society.

Where does that put computers? The Internet? Historically, Information Technology owned the job of negotiating the design of information and technology across the enterprise.

After all, finance is starting to share that responsibility as IT focuses on improving accuracy and controls.

The role of Information Tecnology in corporat毛 governance, such as a enterprise\’s disaster recovery arrangements, has becom毛 higher profile since the 11 September terrorist attacks in the US.

An example is an enterprise program-management office that coordinates individual projects and holistic programs across the enterprise.

Another discipline is portfolio management - a way to look across IT investments and balance them across business/services/manufacturing needs, in both the short and long terms.

So how has the CIOs role changed over the years? Firstly, a typical Chief Information Officer no longer is just concerned with the old Information Tecnology domain.

H毛 is now responsible for a growing number of areas, and is expected to be accountable to all levels of the organisation.

Thinking about the usability of appointment setting activity that may transform your business drastically? In this article, you will find why appointment setting is considered to be an important process for your sales increment.

If you want to speed up your sales, you must focus on appointment setting activities to gear up businesses. The activity is regarded as the most effective Business-to-Business Communication tool. As a result, appointment setting has been a constant part of the lead generation activity for a company.

Usually, companies spend a fortune to decide their appointment setting activities. A well-designed appointment setting can be helpful in turning a person into a prospective client.

The process starts with convincing people by providing them all relevant information to the all possible manner. In this method, a person is provided with all aspects of a product or services to help him to decide what is good or what is bad for him or her?

The process of appointment setting is important also as people like to hear an expert opinion on many matters. The aspect of appointment setting will help a possible consumer to decide if the service which is being offered can be of high value for the person or not.

Things essential for having a successful appointment setting program

Business conversion in appointment setting activity is really high. To get the desired results, a sales person has to be very good in communication. Also, a person has to be well aware of the current development of the product or the service. Moreover, a good sales person should be an expert in mind reading.
Been Busy Hiring?

5 Ways to Keep the People You Have Hired and Get Them Up to Speed Quickly

It has been a busy time for recruiting. Have you and your company recruited strategically? Or did you just go for the 鈥榳arm body\’ to fill a position.

Strategic recruiting means you will get new hires up to speed quicker and increase the likelihood that new hires will stick around longer then you can say 鈥榩ay period鈥?

An organization I have worked with provides HVAC services to developers in Portland. Last year they held a management retreat strictly focused on strategic hiring. In the retreat they listed the characteristics of a perfect employee for their company. Then they listed the common traits that long term, high performing employees had in common. They quickly discovered that their ideal demographic was men in their late 20\’s or early 30 who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Wait a sec, you might be asking what does hunting or fishing have to do with recruiting? Well if you are creative you will quickly put two and two together and know that hiring around lifestyle is a very smart thing to do. So guess where the HVAC Company went to recruit? Yup, the local hunting and fishing games show and they recruited six 鈥榩erfect profile\’ employees into the company.

The HVAC Company described above did the first step in keeping the people they recruited and getting them up to speed quickly.

Step One: Have a strategy before recruiting; take the time to identify theperfect fit, what their interests are, where to find them and how your company fits into their lifestyle. One reason the HVAC Company had men interested in hunting and fishing is because the company owner was an avid outdoorsmen and he would take his entire team on hunting and fishing excursions as reward and as incentive.

Step Two: If it\’s too late and you didn\’t hire strategically it is never too late to have a training and retention strategy. Find out what their lifestyle interests are, how can you tailor reward and incentive around the lifestyles of your employees?

In a survey conducted by Right Management 2006 showed that 68% surveyed stated

bad hires and promotions lead to lower morale, 66% said it led to lower productivity, 54% said it causes loss of customers and 51% said bad hires/promotions increased training costs.

Step three:Provide the training. Many baby boomer leaders expect new hires to have common sense or to just know what needs to be done. Stephen Covey says; fail to plan-plan to fail. We need to set up our new hires for success by providing them with the training to do the job at the highest level. Among surveyed CIO\’s in order to retain employees: 63% are providing additional training opportunities and 47% are providing flexible work schedules (Robert Half Technology Survey of 1400 CIO\’s)

Step four: Cross-train. Bringnew hiresup to super speed by having them cross train with cross-functional departments. Employees that have a deeper understanding of the overall company operations tend to buy in faster to the culture, the goals and their role in the company success. Set up a simple process of buddy system information sessions for example pairing an operations role with a sales role and let them see a day in the life of each other\’s department. It is eye opening and builds team at the same time.

Step Five: Create outlets for fun. I know when I bring this one up people balk especially us Canadians. What do you mean fun? It\’s called work for a reason, is a typical baby boomer response to the 鈥榝un\’ word. In my research even tired and burned out baby boomers are looking for a little levity along with their Generation X and Y counterparts.

Survey results from,鈥?Fun Work Environment Survey,\” Sponsored by the Society for Human Resource Management

Companies who have 鈥榝un\’ plans in the workplace:

79% companies had reductions in turnover

72% companies had decreases in absenteeism

72% companies saw reductions in employee conflicts

95% indicated an increase in the ability to attract new employees

95% of the respondents reported increases in employee enthusiasm as a result of the fun.

94% experienced an increase in group cohesiveness

93% had increased communications among employees and employee satisfaction

92% saw an increase in employee creativity

If you have made it through the first 90 days of a new hire and you have training and retention plan in place then you are in good shape. If your hiring strategy is hit and miss and your training strategy is sink or swim and your retention strategy is that they should just be happy to get a paycheck you could find yourself on the hiring/re-hiring treadmill indefinitely. By the way the HVAC Company in Portland has a 95% retention rate in a very complex industry with a steep learning curve.

If you\’ve ever read an article about eBay, you will have seen the kinds of incomes people make - it isn\’t unusual to hear of people making thousands of dollars per month on eBay.

Next time you\’re on eBay, take a look at how many PowerSellers there are: you\’ll find quite a few. Now consider that every single one of one of them must be making at least $1,000 per month, as that\’s eBay\’s requirement for becoming a PowerSeller. Silver PowerSellers make at least $3,000 each month, while Gold PowerSellers make more than $10,000, and the Platinum level is $25,000. The top ranking is Titanium PowerSeller, and to qualify you must make at least $150,000 in sales every month!

The fact that these people exist gives you come idea of the income possibilities here. Most of them never set out to even set up a business on eBay - they simply started selling a few things, and then kept going. There are plenty of people whose full-time job is selling things on eBay, and some of them have been doing it for years now. Can you imagine that? Once they\’ve bought the stock, everything else is pretty much pure profit for these people - they don\’t need to pay for any business premises, staff, or anything else. There are multi-million pound businesses making less in actual profit than eBay PowerSellers do.

Even if you don\’t want to quit your job and really go for it, you can still use eBay to make a significant second income. You can pack up orders during the week and take them down to the post office for delivery each Saturday. There are few other things you could be doing with your spare time that have anywhere near that kind of earning potential.

What\’s more, eBay doesn\’t care who you are, where you live, or what you look like: some PowerSellers are very old, or very young. Some live out in the middle of nowhere where selling on eBay is one of the few alternatives to farming or being very poor. eBay tears down the barriers to earning that the real world constantly puts up. There\’s no job interview and no commuting involved - if you can post things, you can do it.

Put it this way: if you know where to get something reasonably cheaply that you could sell, then you can sell it on eBay - and since you can always get discounts for bulk at wholesale, that\’s not exactly difficult. Buy a job lot of something in-demand cheaply, sell it on eBay, and you\’re making money already, with no set-up costs.

If you want to dip your toe in the water before you commit to actually buying anything, then you can just sell things that you\’ve got lying around in the house. Search through that cupboard of stuff you never use, and you\’ll probably find you\’ve got a few hundred dollars\’ worth of stuff lying around in there! This is the power of eBay: there is always someone who wants what you\’re selling, whatever it might be, and since they\’ve come looking for you, you don\’t even need to do anything to get them to buy it.

So you want to get started on eBay? Well, that\’s great! There are only a few little things you need to learn to get started. Our next email will give you the lowdown.

The two primary objectives of project management are that the project should be effective and efficient. Most projects confound effectiveness, efficiency and effort to create a more efficient task, ignoring effectiveness, resulting in project breakdown.

Projects being successful imply projects to produce effective effects, but at other end being efficient implies producing consequences with minimum effort or the caliber to carry out actions promptly.

Efficiency of the Project:

Efficiency of the project is the determinant or a ratio of the out puts from a process activity in relation to the resource inputs, as a measured by the volume of output achieved for the input used. The project can be described as efficient if all stages, maturity, delivery, initiation and implementation are accomplished within the constrains identified at its beginning, in terms of workforce, cost, time and objectives.

Success: If the project is able to exploit the resources of the members of the project group and the user time to the fullest, avoiding unnecessary idle time, delays or wasted time brought about by undertaking tasks or activities.

Furthermore, the project will be effective if integration of activities of the members of the project team, and the interaction with dependences through other parties outside the project team are capable of apt delivery of resources including hardware, software services and training.

Besides, proper time management of resources also signifies efficiency of the project, as resources arrive before they are required, this may lead to problems, deterioration, unexpected fluctuation in planned cash flows and a proportion of the warranty period elapsing before equipment has been used.

Effectiveness of the Project:

Effectiveness of the project is a measure of how well or complete a project task will carry out. A project can be described as effective if it meets with established objectives including the required needs of the user producing quality standards that have been specified to satisfy the needs.

Furthermore, a project can be considered effective if it is able to integrate within the existing organizational system structures and processes with sufficient flexibility; in addition, if it is capable of responding to the changes in the environment in which the system will operate accordingly to the change in the requirement of the user.

Two terms can occur, effectiveness in subjective concept and efficiency in objective impression, in brief; project efficiency is the ratio of the resource inputs and the outputs, while effectiveness can be gauged with objective achievements of the project.
